Spring Is In The Air With Graeagle Bear

As the flowers sprout and the grass turns green, the entire forest comes alive. Spring has now come, melting the blankets of snow and stirring the forest creatures in their deep sleep. Miss Dragonfly, Frog, Lizard, and Graeagle Bear are just some of the few animals who look forward to the new season. But after a long time of sleeping, these four friends sure had their tummies growling. So out they go as they search for bugs and berry chow.

To their delight, bugs and berry chow were everywhere. While munching along, they discovered an intriguing activity in a nearby meadow.  Together they agreed they would embark on their first spring adventure by trying out this interesting activity. Before long, the four friends had hungry tummies again. Unfortunetly, they had to separate to find the food they wanted. The Graeagle Bear

Graeagle, Calif. is a small town tucked in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Forests, streams, lakes and meadows dot its landscapes. Bear, deer and other wild animals roam abundantly in this healthy forest. It is here that co- authors Mary Lou “Dink” Rife and Kathleen Backman’s The Graeagle Bear story begins. Written entirely in rhyme, this book takes readers on an exciting adventure as they follow Bear and his three other friends searching for the source of a smell that they think will lead them to something good to eat.

This story takes readers into the Plumas Forest where a big brown bear roams. He stays close to Graeagle because that is his home. As he roams to find food, he smells something delicious that leads him on a quest to find where it comes from. Along the way, he will meet new friends, Lizard, Frog, and Dragonfly, who will accompany him on his journey. Soon, they make a unique friendship together.
